Weekly Update - 15/2/2015

This weekend marked the end of Middlesbrough's chances in the FA Cup, with a 2-0 loss to Arsenal. The sad moment revolving around this loss was that the team was on a 6-game winning streak, their largest streak in the past 20 years, ( Source: BBC Sports ). Arsenal scored within two minutes of the game beginning. An impressive crowd of Middlesbrough fans attended the match but were unfortunately treated to a loss.

Karanka was not impressed with the team's performance in the first half of the match, as he is quoted saying that he prefers to be fighting and giving it their all in the first half. He also appreciated the fact that Arsenal played their best players, which showed the level of respect they had for Middlesbrough. However, the club made a better go at it compared to the expectations of many spectators. The club tweeted regarding the 5,280 fans who attended the game. They were proud to see the support of their fans, (Source: Middlesbrough FC Twitter feed).

They actually posted a message to their fans on the club website regarding their appreciation of their fan support. Their message explained to fans how grateful they were to have supporters who are willing to travel just to support their football team. This message was posted even before 5,000+ people attended the match on Sunday, just furthering the idea of how diligent and dedicated the fans of Middlesbrough are to their club.

I find it quite annoying that the club Twitter account live tweets the matches. As a fan, I would rather see relevant information regarding the players, the club, and just stats, not a play by play. I suggest the club institute another account specifically for detailing the matches. This would allow fans to follow whichever fits their needs.
